Skopje, 17th May 2002
STATEMENT
The
Minister who, in spite of the simulated concern and the promise that he would
accept the possible personal accountability, obviously does not intend to keep his
promises.
His
Mentor, the Prime Minister Georgievski, who protects such exhibitionistic, myth
manic, and autocratic behavior.
The
Government and all other institutions that remain silent about this and similar
incidents.
DOSTA
E warns that:
With
the ignoring attitude towards this incident, the authorities severely violate all
basic principles of democracy and human rights.
To
leave this case unresolved will be another violation of the legal norms and non-enforcement
of the law that is UNIVERSAL for EVERYONE.
If
this continues, Macedonia will become a totalitarian society, with an elite government
that has complexes.
DOSTA
E calls upon:
The
President, the Government, and the Parliament, to insist on a fair and full investigation
to resolve this case, and on Minister Boskovski to perceive his responsibility
and to submit irrevocable resignation as an act of ethics.
The
citizens of Macedonia, the non-governmental organizations, and the media, to
continue with the pressure on the Government for the democratization of the
society.
