Skopje, 09th April 2002
STATEMENT
The civic action platform DOSTA E (ENOUGH IS ENOUGH) vigorously protests against Mr. Stojan
Andov's (and like-minded) intention to question the regularity of the
parliamentary elections, by playing with the election date.
The
parties reached a consensus on the date for the parliamentary elections, 15th
September, but Mr. Andov has abused his power by attempting to reschedule it
and opting for 22nd September.
Let's
consider whether it is favourable to schedule the parliamentary elections in
the Republic of Macedonia for the same day as the local elections in Kosovo.
Let's
consider whether the decrease in the number of international monitors will be
in our favour. We have nothing to hide, right?
The students elections, unfortunately, only proved
our concerns. We have forewarned and now we warn again that those elections
were a bad omen of what might happen during the parliamentary elections.
DOSTA E WANTS TO KNOW: Are we
going to witness once again the tragic incidents that happened during the 2000
Elections? There were dead and wounded.
DOSTA E IT'S ENOUGH REFUSES to be solely a silent observer
of the events that imply UNfair, NON-democratic and extremely dangerous
elections.
DOSTA E EMPHASIZES: fair and democratic elections are the civic action's
priority.
DOSTA E WARNS: violence,
politicization and party-affiliated division of the society continue. The
Authorities demonstrates frivolous conduct and violates all rules of democratic
behaviour.
DOSTA E FIGHTS for rehabilitation
and preservation of the basic values of civic society: DEMOCRACY, FREEDOM,
DIGNITY and ACTION!
